Our Opportunity:
Our client's
needs are growing and we are expanding our team to add a Strategic
Communications Manager responsible for the development and implementation of
strategic communications campaigns. This
position includes the following responsibilities:
- Client Counsel: Lead
client account teams, conduct the Discovery Process, and develop communication
campaigns/plans to include analysis, strategies, tactics, timeframes and
budgets. Serve as the client contact and
manage day-to-day client relationships, providing strategic counsel and supervision for all
facets of campaigns, including research, writing, special events, collateral and
media relations. Manage client issues and
crisis situations when necessary.
- Campaign Support/Project Management: Monitor
campaign budgets and manage internal reporting processes and client
receivables. Analyze campaign
initiatives and report results to the internal team and client. Manage and coordinate the efforts of team
members, freelancers and outside specialists who work with the client or the
firm.
- Team Development: Effectively
manage an account team to meet client needs.
Serve as a mentor by contributing to the continual coaching and
development, performance management, productivity and recruitment process of
employees. Participate in strategic management
initiatives of the firm as requested.
- Business Development/Community
Relations: Actively participate in new business development
efforts through research, networking and current client development. Create and conduct presentations to current
and potential clients. Represent the
firm in professional associations and community events to augment the firm's
presence in the business community.
Qualifications & Skills:
- 7+
years experience and demonstrated success in executive communications,
marketing and strategic plans. Exceptional
skills and experience in writing and project management and a solid
understanding of social media required.
- Focused
experience serving the health care or agriculture/nutrition industries is
desirable.
- Issues
and crisis management expertise is highly desirable.
- Solid
management skills with the ability to build a solid, high-performing team. Must enjoy role as a mentor.
- Bachelor's
degree in journalism, communications, business or a related field is
required. MBA or a Master's degree is
desirable.
- Superb
written and oral communication skills.
- Intelligent,
mature self-starter who is comfortable accepting responsibility for
successfully achieving personal, team and organization objectives.
- Exceptional
project management skills, managing multiple projects and deadlines with strict
attention to quality and detail.
- Strong
business acumen with analytical and decision-making skills including
forecasting ability, measuring the success of team members, monitoring

Our Opportunity:
We are
seeking a Strategic Communications Associate to actively participate in the
development and implementation of strategic communications campaigns. This position will also provide project support
for our leadership team's business development initiatives. This position includes the following
responsibilities:
- Client Campaigns: As
a team member, contribute to the development and execution of communications
campaigns to include research, writing, media relations, special events and client
presentations. Write first drafts of
communications and marketing materials such as pitch letters/memos, news
releases, client reports, etc. Serve as
the day-to-day client contact for campaign activities as assigned and manage
logistics (schedules, vendors, design and other activities).
- Campaign Support: Perform
research associated with client plans and communicate strategies and
recommendations to team members or clients.
Assist with managing, tracking and reporting project and budget status
for each assigned client. Manage
personal billability and follow internal procedures to assign billable hours to
client budgets, apprising team leaders of status. Gather data and input for analysis of
campaign initiatives/results. Build local
and industry specific media relationships resulting in placements. Assist with media tours and conferences.
- Business Development Champion: As
part of our growth strategy, Standing Partnership is committed to our business
development plan and its initiatives. As an internal project, this position
will serve as the champion and "traffic manager" for new business development
activities such as inquiries, presentations and RFP responses. He or she must oversee the new business pipeline
while coordinating and following up with leadership team members to ensure
timely follow-through on business development activities. Assist in preparing customized marketing
materials, presentations and proposals.
- Organizational Support: Meet with the leadership team to support
organization objectives and assist with action items, deliverables and
follow-ups. Participate in the
implementation of strategic initiatives of the firm. Make recommendations to improve internal
processes.
Qualifications & Skills:
- 3+ years experience and
demonstrated success in executing communications, marketing and strategic
plans. Exceptional skills in
writing, research and media relations.
- Bachelor's
degree in journalism, communications, business or a related field is required. MBA or a Master's degree is

- Demonstrated
knowledge and experience working on interactive digital projects and social
media.

Internships
Standing
Partnership offers a competitive internship three times per year to those
starting their careers in communications and marketing, and ready to delve
deeper into the industry. Successful intern candidates demonstrate:
- Strong
verbal and written skills;
- Previous
work experience in marketing, communications, public relations or a relevant
field;
- A
basic understanding of traditional and non-traditional public relations,
marketing and/or communications;
- The
ability to juggle multiple projects;
- A
desire for continued learning; and
- The
flexibility to work independently or with a team.
The
internship is a paid, full-time position (40 hours per week). Responsibilities
include assisting teams with client and internal projects, including employee
newsletters, articles and press releases; research for clients and new business;
team brainstorms; and project proposals.
In an

communications industry, interns must be willing to immerse themselves in continued
learning and apply what they learn to their work. Standing Partnership invests
in the professional development of its interns and uses the internship program
