Standing Partnership team members individually and together have demonstrated a passion for making our community better through caring, serving, consulting and capacity-building. We are proud to have worked with more than 100 community partners. Here is a sampling of our collective impact.

  • The Black Rep
    • Created marketing and media materials for The Black Rep’s 30th anniversary, boosting the theatre’s visibility and annual ticket sales.

      The Black Rep is the largest professional African-American theatre company in the nation and the largest African-American performing arts organization in Missouri, entertaining more than 80,000 people annually.

  • Boys & Girls Town of Missouri
    • Provided pro bono work to Boys and Girls Town (also a long-term client) to launch Changing Prisms, a statewide program that helps girls overcome trauma through interactions with strong women role models.

      Boys & Girls Town of Missouri provides treatment, education, prevention, and support services to children with a history of abuse, neglect or abandonment. In 2009, Boys & Girls Town of Missouri merged with Edgewood Children’s Center, to form one of the largest children’s social service agencies in Missouri, Great Circle.

  • Celebrate St. Louis/Live on the Levee
    • Partnered with Celebrate St. Louis over several summers, assisting with event planning, media relations and marketing outreach.

      The Fair Saint Louis Foundation, in partnership with the City of St. Louis and the National Park Service, hosts Celebrate St. Louis – the region’s Independence Day Celebration – on the Gateway Arch grounds. A series of free summer concerts is held in conjunction with the event on weekends throughout the July and early August.

  • Center for Character & Citizenship (UMSL)
    • Worked with the Center for Character & Citizenship during its launch, helping bring focus to its brand and marketing plan. Standing also publicized events and created awareness around the Center’s fifth anniversary.

      The Center for Character & Citizenship fosters the development of character, democratic citizenship and civil society in our communities in youth. The Center and its programs serve hundreds of schools, educators, and students locally, nationally, and internationally and encourage civic engagement in the U.S. and globally.

  • Chesterfield Arts
    • Developed a marketing and media relations plan to support arts education for Chesterfield Arts and worked with the organization to clarify communications and marketing goals.

      Chesterfield Arts is dedicated to providing programming in the visual, performing and literary arts, promoting awareness and arts education, and serving as a resource for information in St. Louis’ West County region.

  • College Summit
    • Designed a strategic communications plan for College Summit, including media relations, digital communications and thought leadership campaign, to build brand awareness.

      College Summit is a national nonprofit organization that collaborates with schools, school districts and colleges to foster a sustainable model for raising community-wide college enrollment rates by creating a college-going culture. Since 2005, College Summit has helped increase college enrollment rates by 13 percent.

  • Donald Danforth Plant Science Center
    • Provided the Donald Danforth Plant Science Center pro bono public relations services during the grand opening of its new facility; and supported the center’s inaugural year through project management and event planning.

      The Donald Danforth Plant Science Center is committed to improving the human condition through plant science. This nonprofit research institute strives to enhance the nutritional content of plants, increase agricultural production to create a sustainable food supply, reduce pesticide and fertilizer use, and develop biofuels, while generating technologies that will contribute to the economic growth of the St. Louis region.

  • Edgewood Children’s Center
    • Standing Partnership has expanded its long-term involvement with Edgewood Children’s Center by serving on the board of directors and providing volunteer support.

      For more than 175 years, Edgewood Children’s Center has cared for children in vulnerable situations by providing residential and foster care, education, and other community-based services. Edgewood offers highly individualized treatment to more than 300 children and their failies daily.

  • Gateway Greening
  • Lydia’s House
    • Captured new memories to help create a fresh start for families at Lydia’s House by taking family portraits during the holidays. Many of the families seeking refuge at Lydia’s House leave their homes in duress, taking few mementos, such as photos and family albums.

  • Maternal Child & Family Health Coalition
    • Supported the Maternal Child and Family Health Coalition’s (MCFHC) Triumph Program, an initiative, which ensures young, pregnant women in St. Louis’ 27th ward have access to health care resources and education.

      The Maternal Child and Family Health Coalition is dedicated to improving birth outcomes, promoting healthy families and building healthy communities. MCFHC is a staunch advocate of women’s health and health care services, including mental health, immunizations, and healthy and sustainable homes.

  • Meds & Food for Kids
    • Provided strategic counsel to Meds & Food for Kids (MFK) to increase brand awareness and develop its capital campaign, Local Hands Bright Future. Standing created a structure for effective outreach to media and potential donors, which included media training, recommendations for building and maintaining relationships with media, and high-impact communications materials.

      Meds & Food for Kids is a St. Louis-based nonprofit dedicated to combating malnutrition in Haiti’s children. Using peanuts grown and processed by Haitian farmers, MFK produces ready-to-use therapeutic food (Medika Mamba) that helps children recover from malnutrition while developing the Haitian economy.

  • Parents as Teachers
    • Invigorated Parents as Teachers’ (PAT) image among its target audiences by unifying the organization’s brand positioning efforts. Provided pro bono time toward media relations, website redevelopment, and support of the 25th anniversary capital campaign and gala.

      Headquartered in St. Louis, PAT champions the critical role of parental involvement in early childhood development and prepares children for a stronger start in life through early detection of developmental delays and health issues. PAT serves more than 300,000 families across the country and around the world.

  • Parkway School District
    • Provided strategic counsel and support through concept development, media relations, and event planning for the Parkway Alumni Association and the Parkway Hall of Fame, an initiative designed to commemorate the school’s 50th anniversary.

      The Alumni Association created the Parkway Hall of Fame to honor graduates of the district who have distinguished themselves through career achievements and community service. The Association inducted 50 graduates in the charter class – and now includes more than 100 Parkway graduates.

  • Partnership for a Drug-Free America
    • Helped launch a two-year media campaign to increase awareness of adolescent drug use, providing invaluable education to both teens and parents.

      The Partnership at (formerly known as The Partnership for a Drug-Free America®) is a national nonprofit that helps parents prevent, intervene, and find treatment for drug and alcohol abuse by their children.

  • Saint Louis PetLover Coalition
  • Saint Louis Zoo
    • Developed a communications strategy for key stakeholder outreach, assisted in the development of an internal reporting structure, and managed special events and event sponsorships, including the “Make Tracks for the Zoo” Community Run/Walk.

      The St. Louis Zoo is committed to conserving animals and their habitats through animal management, research, recreation, and educational programs that encourage support and enrich the experience of the public.

  • The Scholarship Foundation of St. Louis
    • Cultivated a brand strategy that managed the Scholarship Foundation of St. Louis’ two master brands. The strategy appropriately links The Scholarship Foundation of St. Louis, which provides access to higher education through interest-free loans, with The ScholarShop, upscale resale stores whose profits provide the funding.

      The Scholarship Foundation of St. Louis provides access to postsecondary education for members of the community who otherwise lack the financial means to fulfill their educational goals by providing funds, education, and support to families and students in need.

  • Social Venture Partners
    • Through St. Louis Social Venture Partners (SVP), Standing has provided one-on-one council to new executive directors and presidents to select, local nonprofits. Standing has also trained nearly all of the SVP investees in strategic planning and media relations.

  • St. Louis Area Foodbank
    • Supported the St. Louis Area Foodbank through a “Done-in-a-Day” volunteer project, packing food at the Foodbank for St. Louisans in need. This hands-on project helped Standing better connect with and serve the community.

    • St. Louis Blues Alumni/14 Fund
      • Partnered with St. Louis Blues Alumni and 14 Fund philanthropies to raise funds to continue the organization’s support when the hockey season was cancelled in 2005. Managed marketing and media relations for a charity hockey game, raising $100,000 and allowing the players and St. Louis Blues 14 Fund to meet its donation goals.

        The St. Louis Blues Alumni is one of the oldest alumni chapters in professional hockey. The 14 Fund helps those in need and has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for charity.

  • St. Louis Children’s Hospital
    • Built awareness of the “Healthy Kids at Play” program and developed relationships within St. Louis communities by executing an integrated marketing campaign.

      Through the “Healthy Kids at Play” initiative, St. Louis Children’s Hospital (SLCH) sought to provide children better access to health care and safe play spaces. SLCH built safe playgrounds and delivered preventive health services to children in more than 15 at-risk communities.

  • St. Louis Integrated Health Network

    • Developed a branding and marketing strategy to help the St. Louis Integrated Health Network (IHN) change public perception about the quality of care provided by the area’s health safety net system. Conducted market research, created a new website and collateral pieces, and reached out to the community to spread the word.

  • St. Louis Marathon and Family Fitness Weekend
    • Supported the GO! St. Louis Marathon through the development of a brand strategy and team of public relations volunteers to help grow the organization’s visibility. The firm also ran a volunteer PR committee. This helped launch the run as The St. Louis Marathon.

      The GO! St. Louis Marathon & Family Fitness weekend is Missouri’s largest competitive fitness event, with 10 different races for all ages and fitness levels. The two-day program features one the largest half marathon fields in the United States with 13,500 registrants last year.

  • STAGES St. Louis
    • Created a strategic plan for STAGES’ 25th anniversary, assisted with event planning and developed a publicity calendar to highlight the anniversary. Standing also managed media relations efforts that generated substantial media interest in the season and organization.

      STAGES ST. LOUIS is the region’s foremost nonprofit company committed to preserving and advancing the art form of musical theatre through excellence in performance and education. STAGES is committed to supporting professional St. Louis actors, as well as educating thousands of students each year at its Performing Arts Academy, the region’s only year-round arts school with a comprehensive curriculum run by a professional theatre company.

  • United Way of Greater St. Louis
    • Since 1991, Standing has supported countless United Way campaigns, including launching the 211 abuse hotline, implementing the Women’s Leadership Giving Society, consulting on communication and marketing projects, conducting a web audit for the organization, and developing a crisis plan.

  • Variety the Children’s Charity
    • Supported Variety’s efforts as a long-term board member and provided volunteers for the organization’s annual “Adventure Camp” and other Variety family activities.

      Variety, the Children’s Charity collaborates with local corporations, organizations and individuals to help children with disabilities in the St. Louis community. In 2011 alone, Variety allocated $614,525 across 81 partner agencies to serve more than 19,000 children through special medical equipment and unique educational and recreational programs.

  • Westminster College
    • Planned regional and national media outreach for Westminster College’s celebration of the 60th anniversary of Churchill’s speech, which also marked the grand opening of the National Churchill Museum. Standing helped generate widespread interest and media coverage for this historic event’s commemoration.

      Westminster College located in Fulton, Mo., found its official place in history when Winston Churchill delivered his famous “Iron Curtain” speech there in 1946.
