Posted: 03/16/2010

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (March 16, 2010) - Standing Partnership, a leading strategic communications firm with a growing presence in Charlottesville, announces Children, Youth & Family Services will be its local pro bono community partner for 2010.  The firm will develop a digital communications plan to support CYFS and its programs.

CYFS is one of the longest-running nonprofits in Charlottesville, widely recognized for its effectiveness in removing barriers to success for kids in this community. CYFS addresses the issues of poverty, abuse, neglect, parenting, child care quality, teen runaways and early literacy through a range of programs designed to prevent problems before they have a chance to interfere with a child's successful development.

"We are grateful to have been selected as this year's community partner," said Erin Garvey, development director at CYFS. With the help of Standing's communication expertise and dedicated staff, we will generate more awareness of who we are and the importance of the work we do in the Charlottesville region."

Standing Partnership strives to provide a positive impact to the communities in which it has a presence by selecting several nonprofit organizations to work with each year. Standing has a long track record of committing its time, dollars and expertise in support of nonprofit programs and initiatives in both St. Louis, Mo. and Charlottesville, Va.

"We believe it is critical that Standing Partnership gives back to the communities where we live and work," explained Marijean Jaggers, vice president of Standing Partnership and manager of the firm's central Virginia office.  "We are excited to partner with such an amazing group as CYFS."

Past community partners in Charlottesville include the Virginia High School League, Camp Holiday Trails and The Center for Nonprofit Excellence.
