Standing Partnership's picks of must-read links for the week
- Twitter Leads Rescue Efforts of Fazzina Bike Crash -- an amazing story of how a social network saved a life. (Similarly, see the story of how Twitter helped me recover my stolen kayak).
- Think your company needs a social media policy? Here are five reasons one blogger says you don't. (via Sean McCord) What do you think?
- Mayo Clinic, known worldwide for excellence in health care has also been a frontrunner in the social media space. Mayo Clinic's director of social media Lee Aase has announced a social media center designed to teach other health care organizations how to use social media. Huzzah!
- Many of us at Standing are Mizzou alums or at least spent a semester or two under the University of Missouri umbrella. We're delighted to see a great example of a school using Facebook to actually engage its audiences: alumni, students and prospective students. Their page includes links, a music player of important song and lots of photos. This is a great model of what a school's page can look like.
- While not one of us has a single thing in common with pop culture icon Snooki, this article has valuable insights in a fun package. Now if only we could say the same thing about 'Jersey Shore' ...
- Talk about a PR problem for HR managers ... new poll from Newsweek: How much is beauty worth at work?
