Standing Partnership's picks of must-read links for the week
- Still confused about FourSquare? What is it? And why would anyone use it? Why we check in: the reasons people use location-based social networks. (Side note: I am currently the mayor of BOTH Standing Partnership locations.)
- An interesting take on both leveraging a personal brand and the next stage of branded entertainment.
- Those of us focused on Standing's health care practice keep our eyes out for innovative uses of communications tools. The use of social media to connect the HIV/AIDS community is compelling.
- This is a great story on efforts to raise the nutritional standards for school lunches and vending machine food. It also covers two of Standing's focus areas: education and agriculture/nutrition.
- An excellent analysis of the outcome of reform efforts to create small schools.
- Sometimes what we're reading is what we're watching as in this excellent TED video (below) about how great leaders inspire action. TED speakers are provocative--challenging the norms of today and
forecasting the discoveries of tomorrow. Check out the site for in-depth
debates or simple head-scratchers!
