At a recent gathering to say goodbye to our intern Robin (we'll miss you Robin!), our team's conversation turned to our favorite holiday gifts. The responses ranged from strange (kitchen handy wipes - really, Julie?) to thoughtful (an Adirondack chair built by grandpa from wood on his farm).
So, for fun, I thought I'd start a thread on this year's favorite holiday gifts.
Here's mine:
Besides having someone research the history of our house, which was built in 1894, my favorite gift was a Flip video camcorder. It fits in my pocket, is extremely easy to use and it's designed so you can upload video to YouTube in a snap. It even comes with some basic editing software. It's a handy device that some companies may want to consider having on hand to capture employee stories, customer testimonials or to spice up their blogs! I hope to post some footage of our team sometime soon!
And, thanks to our friends and partners for their fun and scrumptious gifts to Standing Partnership. My favorite - a basket full of nostalgic candy from the video crew folks at Bennett Innovations. The fake candy lipsticks brought me right back to my childhood.
What was your favorite gift this holiday season?

My best gift this year was having my brother, his wife, their 2-year old and 8 month old daughters in town from Michigan for Christmas. It’s the first Christmas they’ve made the trek since the kidds were born. Reading stories with Abigail on my lap was wonderful!

I second that! The Flip Mino was my favorite gift of the season, er, my husband’s - but what’s ownership in a marriage, right? Not only does the Flip camcorder hold more video than a regular digital camera with video capability but it seems to be more compact - bonus!
But, learning the history of your home sounds interesting as well. Would love to hear more about it.
