Melissa Lackey

President & CEO

I love the diversity and the challenge of helping organizations tell their stories in distinctive and compelling ways that support business strategy. And, I get to surround myself with incredibly smart people who challenge me to bring my best every day.

What are your areas of expertise?
Reputation Management, strategy, integrated marketing and issues/crisis management for professional services, health care and education

Years of relevant experience: 20+

What’s your favorite achievement at Standing Partnership?
A few years ago, we took a bold step to establish ourselves as a reputation management firm—helping organizations think more broadly about multiple stakeholders and developing strategies that not only build trust but mitigate risk. It’s a blend of management consulting with communications/marketing overtones. As a result, we’ve grown in some of the most challenging economic years and I am really proud of that. That growth speaks to two things: we have great talent on our team and our clients appreciate what we bring to the table.

Why did you pick this industry?
I am passionate about continual learning and making an impact. At Standing, I get both.

What is your favorite part of your job?
Collaborating with clients and colleagues.

What do you do to unwind?
It’s all about great wine, cooking, travel—and spending quality time with my family.

The best vacation I ever took was…
Hilton Head Island (Sea Pines) is my favorite family vacation spot. But, the best was a trip with my husband to Italy’s Amalfi Coast for our 15th wedding anniversary.

What’s the best book you've read in the last year?
"Bossy Pants" by Tina Fey
