So recently my colleague Justin entered the PC vs. Mac smackdown ring with his thoughts on Microsoft's recent "Keep the Change" campaign, crediting Microsoft for finally "landing a punch" in the ad wars between the two brand powerhouses. Well, Mac has fired back with four new commercials that are clever, more timely than even they probably imagined, and, let's face it, just dang funny. Here's my favorite of the bunch:
You can see the others here: "Time Travel" where a trip to the future doesn't go quite as planned; a "Legal Copy" issue that grows as it goes along; and Mac's indirect way of addressing its higher cost in "Stacks."
Yes, one could argue that in tough economic times, going with the cheaper computer is the best option. However, it appears that Mac is working to make a strong case that the old saying "you get what you pay for" is definitely true when it comes to computers. Do you think they've made their case?
And as far as where I stand on the issue ... I've always been a PC girl - never even worked on a Mac - but I just recently bought an iPhone. I've lost weight with the Lose It app, stuck to my monthly budget with SmallSpend, made a couple of great meals with AllRecipes and become completely addicted to BubbleWrap. I'm now including the iPhone on my personal list of the Greatest Inventions Ever in the History of Mankind (right up there with indoor plumbing, air conditioning and Reese's Peanut Butter Cups). In contrast, my office PC just crashed for the third time today. In other words, I'll be using SmallSpend to help me save up enough to make my next computer purchase a Mac - I have a feeling it'll be worth it.

I’ve been a Mac person since 1986 and never regretted it. They are easier to work with, crash less (the current operating system has crashed my whole computer only once in the last year - and individual programs that crash can easily be forced to quit and usually reopen without a problem) and have great support. And they come with the iLife suite - I use iPhoto and iMovie, along with iDVD all the time. I recommend them for anyone, especially since you can even run any necessary Windows programs on them too.
