Shhh...don't tell any of my colleagues, but I have the best job at Standing Partnership.
Officially, I'm a "senior counselor." No, I do not gather everyone around the campfire at 5 p.m. to sing Kum Ba Ya and roast marshmallows. What that title actually translates into is a trendspotter, fact finder, info gatherer, heads-up giver and news hound - with the added bonus of Trivial Pursuit player extraordinaire. I read a lot - news feeds, blogs, e-newsletters, you name it - and pass along ideas, trends and random flashes of brilliance (or goofy thoughts - they can't all be home runs!) to client teams.
I've been using a variety of methods to push information out to clients, Standing colleagues, industry friends and even potential clients - mostly through emails and our internal wiki. But, inspired by Marijean, I'm taking a stand - from now on, I'm all del.icio.us all the time. I've been in love with del.icio.us for a while, but have been using it mostly for speechwriting research and...ahem...shopping (Thank you, God, for online shopping!). Now, though, I'm taking the full plunge - and dragging all of you along with me.
