As Standing’s summer intern, I have been introduced to many Standing customs – my new favorite being Done-in-a-Day Projects, companywide volunteer initiatives to serve the community with hands-on efforts.
Our most recent project can’t be described as anything but a success. Last week I, along with several other Standing employees, had the opportunity to help out Variety the Children’s Charity of St. Louis children and their families during an outing at the St. Louis Art Museum.

Variety is dedicated to giving children with disabilities and their families the chance to visit St. Louis’s many destinations, socialize and make friends. I hadn’t yet encountered a program like this and was excited to make a trip to the St. Louis Art Museum for Variety’s most recent event.
We spent the day assisting with museum tours, helping with crafts, participating in story time, and enjoying complimentary snow cones.

I’ve volunteered with many organizations at multiple events, but this was an experience I won’t forget. Making a positive impact alongside many of my fellow team members was the perfect way to spend a Wednesday afternoon.
What does your organization do to involve employees in the community?
If your organization is able, check out the volunteer opportunities listed on Variety’s website.
Since Standing Partnership’s inception, our core values and commitment to giving back to our communities have remained steadfast. Each year, Standing teams partner with organizations that have real impact – donating time, dollars and expertise to help achieve their visions and expand reach.
