The real estate bubble has burst – leaving many homeowners unsure of their own domestic situations. I can relate. I find myself in the same situation – do I hold out on my prime location? Or do I chance it on a move?
I'm not talking of my actual home, but my home away from home – a contemporary, fully furnished, nicely lit workstation located in the center of 540 Maryville Centre Drive – Suite 100. Although I don't have the granite countertops or a view of the lake, this space is like a great loft in the city. My neighbors are fun, there is always something going on and the commute to the kitchen, bathroom and conference room is a breeze. Here's the downside. It can get a little rowdy when you're trying to work, my front stoop is commonly used as a bus stop for people waiting to jump on the Melissa Lackey Express (you gotta wait somewhere so you don't miss her) and no matter how many times I call the maintenance man out here, it's freezing in the winter and hot in the summer.
There is a lovely space (within my price range no less) that would work out great, the only problem is, it's a bit of a commute. Compared to where I am now, it's country living at its best. The back of the office is calm and quiet, and I've always heard that people who lived out in the country were friendly folks. I just might have to go check it out!
Until next time …

Oh, Jenny, this is hilarious! And it’s such a perfect comparison! I think we’ve got some prime real estate on our end of the block. We’d be so lonely without you! I can’t wait to hear more about the goings on there/here!

As one of the “country cousins” in the back 40, I say, “Come on down!” We’re not as sleepy a group as you urban centrists like to believe. Heck, we’re even streaming Christmas music on our computers back here while updating our Facebook profiles! ![]()

Too funny. Allow me to pitch for the “country” end of the hall.
- Views of the trees abound on the east wall; you can catch them from your vantage point.
- No food temptations down here! Perfect for that holiday figure.
- Aside from some loud, ahem, phone conversations, the scene is serene.
- We welcome newcomers with open arms and open doors.
- See copy time and printer wait times cut in half!
Y’all come down sometime, ya hear? : )
