Sara Schaeffer Munoz points out Jack Welch's perceptions of Gen Y on The Juggle.
At our professional services firm, three generations are not only are learning to work together harmoniously on the inside, we're learning to work with three (sometimes four) generations of client contacts. It makes for some interesting interactions.
Generationally, I am a bit of a chameleon, born in 1970 I'm a Gen-Xer by date, but I grew up with Boomers as sisters, Veterans as parents and have been enough of an Internet early adapter to dip into Gen Y profiles. (My address may be Charlottesville, but I live in the blogosphere.)
So I try to distance myself from being included in the Gen Y crowd while demonstrating my authentic respect for the Veterans and Boomers -- without driving them nuts with my crazy new ideas.
How is your company working out the generational differences in your workforce?
