How The Agriculture Industry Is Using Video to Spread Its Messages
By: Julie Steininger | 03/17/2011
Who
hasn't started or ended their day with a scan through the top videos on
YouTube, enjoying the multitude of laughing babies or "Charlie bit my
finger - again!"
Thanks
to the folks at MarketingProfs, we know that:
- 4
out of 5 - the number of Internet users who watch online video
- 2
billion - the number of videos watched on YouTube per day
- 35
- hours of video uploaded to YouTube every minute
- 186
- number of online videos the average U.S. Internet user watches per month
- 12.72
- average number of hours of video a user watches per month
- 2+
billion - the number of videos watched on Facebook per month
- 20
million - the number of videos uploaded to Facebook per month
The
agriculture industry has tapped into our desire to be entertained two- and
three-minute snippets at a time and is using video to share facts, educate
a range of audiences, and simply tell the story of agriculture using visuals.
Here
are few videos that I find educational and entertaining. What do you
think?
- Some Food
for Thought - America's farmers produce many
products for not only the United States, but also the world. Take a look at the
impact America's farmers have on the world.
- One Hungry
Planet - The productivity of the American farm is "the greatest story never told."
- America's
Farmers Families - Real farmers. Real farms. Real life.
