Twitter is a powerful tool. Case in point: Standing Partnership's Marijean Jaggers. In my short time at Standing, I have learned that Marijean is the go-to person for all my social media fears questions. She not only encourages us with our social media endeavors, she counsels our clients on how to use social media and social networks for business, career development and personal branding. On October 23, she will be sharing her tips at the Show Me The Blog | STL Blogging and Social Media Conference.

Readers of Standing's blog are no stranger to Marijean's insights into social media and how it relates to business communications. So, last week - not unlike the Betty White Facebook campaign - Marijean's Twitter followers banded together, giving Show Me The Blog organizers reasons why she should be a panelist:

As a testament to the power of social media, within hours Marijean was added to the roster. From there, her blog readers influenced her chosen topic, "Ambassador You: Integrating Social Media into Business Communications."  The Standing team is excited to have Marijean bring her blogging and social media expertise to a greater St. Louis audience.

In its inaugural year, Show Me The Blog organizers are hoping the conference will create more social media communication and dialogue in the St. Louis area. Nearly 20 local bloggers and social media enthusiasts are on slate to share information and inspire the audience. I have my ticket...do you have yours?
