Radiohead and Public Relations?

So, Radiohead, you're smart. Or your PR person is. Either way, you've got people talking, and even if I name-my-own-price for your album, leave you high and dry and pay $0.00 it's worth it. The buzz you have generated is guaranteed to get you coverage, sell tickets and t-shirts and generate a rapport among the many music industry-hating fans.

Another stunt, yes, in the manner of the Colbert Air item I wrote about a few days ago. But I like your approach even more, because your idea does more than generate sales. You may have tapped into a movement, a revolution, a music-changing phenomenon that will sweep the nation and make the $25 CD obsolete… or I might be wrong. But hats off nonetheless, you've got a good handle on the whole integrated PR thing.

I’d never consider buying Radiohead’s music—until now. Mission accomplished!
