Standing Partnership, Maryville Centre Earn A+ for Drive Efforts

During the last week of our Push for Pencils supply drive, Standing Partnership and the offices of Maryville Centre, with special help from Duke Realty and UBS, rallied to bring in an additional 1,527 supply items for KidSmart St. Louis. Our final tally was 3,441 school supply items – nearly 15 percent above our stretch goal – making this our most successful drive to date!

How’d we do it? With a little teamwork, some key communication and a lot of generosity!

Teamwork:
We formed an internal team to share the workload (printing and posting signs, composing e-mail messages, collecting and tallying donations, etc.) and to help keep ourselves motivated and on task. We involved our friends and fellow staff: Duke Realty helped us get a message out to the greater office park, and the Standing Culture Team conceived the successful “Pizza for Pencils” fundraising lunch.

Communication:
We kept in touch with Standing staff and other Maryville Centre offices via e-mail, and we let our colleagues and friends know of our drive via Facebook and Twitter. Best 10 minutes of communications time ever spent? Our final reminder e-mail: We nearly doubled our collections in the final week!

Generosity:
Our final tally speaks for itself. We were once again overwhelmed by the generosity of our fellow team members and office park neighbors. Needless to say, the KidSmart staff were thrilled when we dropped off our supplies!

Thanks to everyone who helped make this a tremendously successful drive!
