St. Louis is still aglow from the excitement of this week's Major League Baseball All-Star game. Social media had a role in the festivities as well. Reebok hosted the "Hidden Ball Trick" Scavenger Hunt, a viral marketing campaign that took fans on a hunt throughout St. Louis city to find hidden baseballs worth prizes. Fans followed Reebok's Twitter feed to receive clues.
The St. Louis woman who found the "golden ball" was not only thrilled with her top prize, but also commented how great it was to follow the Twitter clues and discover St. Louis landmarks and parts of the city she had never before experienced. Social media is a way for communities to connect and engage in authentic dialogue. This week, it was a way for one woman to connect with her own community.
