This week at Standing Partnership, many of the stories we read centered on agriculture and nutrition. Below is a list of a few we found most interesting.
1. Consistent and cohesive messaging is important to consumers, especially when it comes to food. Center for Food Integrity (CFI) released results of a study concluding that clear communication of values such as, truth, responsibility and fairness, is vital to developing a platform of trust in the food system.
2. Wal-Mart, with the support of First Lady Michelle Obama, announced a plan to make the food they sell more nutritious. The new strategy includes reducing sodium and sugar in some foods, lowering produce prices and developing a logo that will make the new, healthier foods easier to identify.
