This weekend - thanks to our friend, social media strategy consultant Jason Baer - I learned about BlindSearch, a new tool that lets you compare the search results from Google, Yahoo and Bing. Check it out by clicking here (warning: the site doesn't work well with Internet Explorer - try FireFox). Basically, you run a search and the site shows you the results from the three search engines. However, the source names are not there - it's just the results. After you pick which results you feel are the best, this site reveals the search engine names.
Since the practical demise of Netscape some years ago, I've been a Google guy. Google has been my home page for at least six or seven years. I trust Google to find what I need, whenever I run a search. However, using this tool I keep selecting Yahoo. Crazy, I know.
In the picture to the left is a blind search of my name. Which column would you pick? (And sorry - you may need your reading glasses!) Think about your choice ... I'll reveal the results below.

Personally, you'd think that I would gravitate toward Google, my long-time Internet companion, or Bing, which is the flashy new kid on the block. But it's Yahoo. Over and over. What about you? The columns listed, from left, are from Yahoo, Bing and Google. Surprised?
