Now that Facebook is mainstream (heck, even this 32-year-old is a member), it's increasingly likely that there are people out there watching for you to slip up.
Most people know that potential employers are out there looking at your online activities. But now even government entities are getting into the action. For example, our friends over in Croatia are now getting jail time (yes, actual jail time) for activities on their Facebook accounts.
According to a report from Reuters, Croatian police are now detaining and questioning web activities who are criticizing or even ridiculing the government. Media and others (like me) see this as a violation of civil rights. Will the United States be next? I hope not, but this example from Croatia goes to show that you can never be too careful about what you write online.
