As a company and as individuals, we believe it is important to support organizations in our communities that make our world a better place to live. On an annual basis, we select Community Partners. These organizations receive support through in-kind professional services and/or volunteer hours. For 2009, we have selected the following organizations as Standing Partnership Community Partners:
United Way
of Greater St. Louis
For more
than 80 years, United Way has
brought people together to care for one another. United Way raises
funds, mobilizes volunteers, strengthens agencies, and identifies critical and
unmet needs in the community.
In partnership with local communities, United Way is investing more into the community and helping more people.
National Center for Parents as Teachers - 25th
Anniversary
For 25
years, Parents as Teachers has helped parents embrace their important role as
their child's first and best teacher. What began in Missouri is now an international network of
3,000 local programs that provide families with essential parenting resources
and tools through home visits, developmental and health screenings, and
connections to community resources. These programs also catch developmental delays
early, prepare children for school, and guard against child abuse and neglect. Looking
to the next 25 years, the National
Center for Parents as
Teachers needs support to build the families of today and the workforce of
tomorrow.
Center for
Nonprofit Excellence (Charlottesville,
Va.)
The Center
for Nonprofit Excellence (CNE) is a local resource center designed to bring
local, regional, and national resources to a single place. By making these
resources more readily available, area nonprofits will save time and money and
be able to focus on maximizing their potential.
St. Louis Area Foodbank
The St.
Louis Area Foodbank is now the Bi-State region's largest nonprofit 501 (c) 3
food distribution center dedicated to feeding those in need. Its mission is to
feed hungry people by distributing food through partner agencies, and to
educate the public about the problems of hunger. Each year, the St. Louis Area
Foodbank gathers and distributes millions of pounds of food and personal care
items thanks to the generous support of hundreds of food manufacturers,
retailers, corporate and community food drives, and financial support received
from foundations, corporations, businesses and
individuals.
KidSmart-Tools
for Learning
There are
more than 80,000 students in St. Louis
who cannot afford basic school supplies like pencils, paper and crayons.
KidSmart-Tools for Learning helps these 45,000 of these children succeed in school by providing
free school supplies through KidSmart's Free Store. Donations from individuals
and businesses help keep the shelves of KidSmart's Free Store stocked with
everything from crayons, markers and glue to business surplus items such as
binders, envelopes and promotional items.
Our Little
Haven
Childhood
should be a haven where young ones are safe and secure - where they are busily
forming the foundations for their futures. Sometimes it's not quite so simple,
and that's where Our Little Haven can help. Our Little Haven's child and family
outpatient services or children's residential treatment can turn tears to
smiles and give children back their childhood. Our Little Haven provides
residential treatment, psychological and counseling services, Our Little
Academy (therapeutic preschool) and foster care case management. Our Little
Haven has provided care for children since 1993.
Edgewood Children's Center
This year,
Edgewood Children's Center celebrates 175 years of history and service to the St. Louis community. Edgewood began as an orphanage in 1834, and has evolved
over the years, responding to changes in society and to the needs of children
and families. Edgewood provides specialized therapeutic, educational, and
community-based services to more than 300 children and families daily
throughout the St. Louis
metropolitan area.
If you would like us to consider your organization as a Community Partner, please contact us at 314-469-3500 or csdunkin@standingpr.com.
In addition to our official Community Partners, we support many organizations through board commitments, sponsorships and volunteer effort.
